Most people when planning a trip to the Pacific Northwest include
a visit to Victoria, the capital city of the Province of British
Columbia. Victoria has traditionally played upon Canada’s
colonial roots and has been described as one of the country’s
most English cities. It is, after all, the namesake of our 19th
century queen. Aside from the English theme, modern Victoria is
rich with cosmopolitan dining, great shopping, colourful nightlife,
and culture.
Many people are unaware that Victoria’s climate is the mildest
in Canada. Like Vancouver, Victoria largely escapes the harsh winters
associated with the rest of the country. It also gets more sun
than the mainland of Vancouver.
Victoria is a city of gardens and beautiful vistas. It boasts
a number of fine bed and breakfasts as well. A few highlights of
Victoria include the famous Butchart Gardens, the BC Legislature
Buildings, the grand old Empress Hotel, the tradition of High Tea,
fine restaurants, and naturalist activities such as Whale watching.
Victoria’s Inner Harbour is a delightful stroll on a warm
summer’s day.
If you are planning a trip to Victoria, we can help. Whether you
choose to take a one-day tour from Vancouver or enjoy a stay at
one of the fine Bed and
Breakfasts of our provincial capital, we
can help.
