I once heard that Vancouver has more restaurants
per capita than any other city in Canada and most other cities
in North America.
I don’t know if that is true, but I am certain that this
city has a huge variety of fine restaurants and a little healthy
competition can be good for the consumer. Vancouverites love
to eat out! Nowhere is this more evident than in the West End
and Yaletown where row upon row of restaurants line the streets.
When
it comes to restaurant suggestions, we like to speak to you about
them personally. It’s important for us to know
what your needs and likes are before we send you off to dinner.
Around
here it is always a good idea to inform the folks at your restaurant
of choice that you are staying at a Vancouver Bed and Breakfast.
Restaurant owners are savvy to the idea that if you have a good
experience you will most likely come down and tell ten people about
it at breakfast.
Over the years, our guests have reviewed for us
a number of fine restaurants in the city. Some of the restaurants
our guests consistently
rave about include:
- Tojo’s -
very fine sushi. Perhaps the best we have ever tried. Quite
expensive but worth it.
202-777 West Broadway

- C - seafood restaurant.
A very fine creative seafood restaurant. Beautifully plated
food which tastes as good as it looks. A very
fine view of Granville Island.

- Il Giardino - an Italian Vancouver institution. This restaurant
has been around since air… but it still works. Fine creative
Italian cuisine in a lovely setting.
1382 Hornby Street
604-669-2422
- Delilah’s -
what can one say about Delilah’s. This
restaurant has also stood the test of time. It is located off
Denman Street in the West End. Expect frescos on the ceiling,
a fantastic
martini or mixed drink, a thoughtful west coast menu and a lot
of fun.
1739 Comox Street
604-687-3424
- Bishop’s - a very fine
restaurant featuring Pacific Northwest cuisine. Fine food,
atmosphere, attention and wine list.
2183 W
Fourth Ave
604-738-2025
- Lumiere - chef Rob Feenie has become a bit
of a local celebrity from the success of this fine French restaurant.
Preparation and
presentation is fantastic… as is the food. If you want
to treat yourself and like expensive French food…
